San Francisco – Teens in Tech Conference

As I write this I’m sitting on the couch in my friend’s apartment in San Francisco. It’s my last night here. These past three days and four nights have been highly compressed with activities to the point where I’m mentally exhausted. My talking and writing skills have devolved to state of Sarah Palin, so please excuse the inevitable spelling, grammar, and syntax problems.

I spoke at the Teens in Tech conference at Google (which means free food and Red Bull) on the topic of Designing for Teens. I mainly focused on annoyances with other websites, namely MySpace, and how to address these issues. If you’re at all interested they posted the video online (at the 23:00 mark) and I uploaded my slides as well. I was genuinely flattered by the response on twitter and at the conference; thanks to everyone that posted these positive comments and came up to talk to me after. It truly means a lot.

Overall the conference went great, I recommend you check my friend Danny’s presentation. He has an innate talent for speaking, his intelligence and experience shines through. The points he presents are not only insightful but applicable even if you’re not a teen in tech.

San Francisco is an absolute pleasure to visit and I’m fortunate I got to spend a good four days here, though I’m looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tomorrow night.
